Office 2019 for Windows or Mac are separate versions of Office for anyone who buys the perpetual license. At this stage, it’s probably better to wait and buy Office 2021 rather than Office 2019. Later in 2021, Office 2019 will be replaced by Office 2021 (for consumers and small businesses) and Office LTSC (volume customers, organizations). Office 365 customers get regular updates of new and improved features, including cloud-based features that are not in Office 2019. Microsoft 365 ‘subscribers’ have a more advanced version of Microsoft Office already.
